The dangers of smoking and exposure to second hand smoke are widely known. It only stands to reason that the dangers of smoking during pregnancy are also extended to the unborn baby. This topic has been research and there have been studies done. The studies linked correlations between smoking and non-smoking pregnancies and the effects on the babies. Smoking while pregnant has been proven to be the cause of many medical problems. The dangers still existed for the baby if the mother didn't smoke but was exposed to second hand smoke. It is extremely important for pregnant women to find a way to quit smoking. Most people don't quit because they are not really ready to or they think it is too hard.
